Fabricating a Freezer Handle out of InstaMorph - Moldable Plastic

A couple of years ago my brother gave us a freezer that he didn't want anymore. It's a smaller unit that we keep in the garage for long term storage of frozen meats and other goods. Well the handle on the door was loose and kept popping out. We dealt with it for a while and kept popping it back into place but then it got lost in the move.

Without a handle the freezer door is quite unpleasant to open, with sharp metal edges and itchy insulation on the inside of the door. I had purchased some InstaMorph a few months ago and finally realized I could form a new handle with this amazing moldable plastic.

InstaMorph comes as a bottle of small, white plastic pellets. You heat a glob of pellets in hot water on the stove and they turn transparent and stick together, becoming moldable. When the glob is soft, you kneed the plastic together and form it into a shape just like you would with play doh.

As it cools, it becomes white opaque again and extremely hard and durable. If you mess up, just re-heat the plastic and reshape it until you get it right.

Here's a pic of the replacement handle:
